Skincare in the Jersey Shore World
Ronnie, Sammi Sweetheart, Snooki, The situation, Vinny, Pauly D, Deena. Oh, yes. I've been following the cast of the Jersey Shore as much as you have. I often tune in to MTV to giggle at (not with) them, and since it's a show I can't usually handle watching alone, I often make my plans so I can meet up with a group of friends beforehand.
While watching usually does give me a great deal of pleasure, I'm also constantly reminded about the extremely unhealthy lifestyle that the characters on the show lead. Between arbitrary hookups, binge drinking, constant doses of UV rays in an effort to keep tan and the occasional fight it's a wonder they have managed to avoid serious ailments. Maybe its all that time they use pumping iron?
Regardless, the show sends a terrible message about health to the viewers. Not that I am a prude in any sense, but I would rather everyone avoided a bit of skin cancer if it was possible. And it is possible. So keep in mind that some ways of picking up a tan are healthier than others. Many people also don't comprehend that really tan skin can be a huge turnoff, I mean, people can see that your skin looks really unhealthy. It's the largest and most visible organ of the body, it's quite clear when it's not taken care of.
So use some care when you're thinking about just how much you'd like to kill some of your skin cells. Maybe even throw on a little lotion. You might also want to consider, that with the amount of money the characters are making these days they can afford all of the medical bills that their lifestyle could eventually lead to, while you may not be as well off.
I am looking forward to another season though, as long as MTV continues to play along and only encourage when the characters are making the biggest fools of themselves. Like that time when each character admitted they had no idea where Italy was, and confused the duomo in Florence for the Vatican. However, as a special message to MTV, I will not sit and watch another season of the absurd Ronnie and Sammi Sweetheart relationship roller coaster.
