Sustainable Energy Sources for Cars Or Operating Unconventionally

By Jose Schalk

People are constantly on the look out for new sources of fuel because of the constantly high price of gasoline. Individuals are distressed at paying more each time they fill up their tanks. The nice thing about that is maybe they will start conserving or find an alternate way to travel. Funds seem to influence people's reasons behind doing things. People don't worry about throwing away their money if it's coming in regularly without fail. The majority of those who're interested in different sources of energy are people who truly value the earth and the effects petroleum fuels are having on it. Thanks to these people, we now have cars that run on electricity or a combination of gas and electricity, and some that are powered by the sun.

Some cars are in fact using water together with their gas in water-to-gas technology. More and more car makers are making vehicles that operate on different fuels for a variety of reasons. The governments in numerous nations around the world, especially in Europe, have placed heavy taxes on fuels and are considering placing even greater restrictions on greenhouse gas emissions. Greenhouse gases inside the atmosphere are increasing, and one of those is carbon dioxide, which arises from the fossil fuels running most vehicles. Due to this, our planet's temperature is climbing which is creating climate change and global warming.

Hybrid cars, as well as cars that run on ethanol, fuel cells, solar power, and other alternative fuel sources, have been designed. LPG is usually liquefied petroleum, and cars which operate on it, are using a mixture of propane and butane. Its hydrocarbon gases are compressed and turned into a liquid, which can reduce fuel expenses by 50% when compared to diesel or petrol. Many cars utilize solar power to produce the electricity to power the motor or manufacture alternate fuels such as hydrogen. Usually, on the roof of the vehicle, is where the solar panels are, that transform the energy of the sun into electrical energy.

An interesting fuel is actually ethanol, which is an alcohol that is created from plant juice, high levels of sugar, or carbohydrates like wheat. In the last 36 years, Brazil has been able to save almost $2 billion in oil expenses by substituting ethanol made out of sugar cane. Brazil has created 5.4 million cars that run on ethanol and is transferring them to Japan and Sweden. This marketplace not only furnished 900,000 jobs, but was the cause of a 30% reduction in toxic emissions because of using ethanol as a fuel.

Vehicles that run on hydrogen are generally the ultimate in clean cars since they only create heat and water vapor emissions which are very kind to the environment. Hybrid vehicles benefit from two energy sources by combining an electric powered motor with a small gas engine. As a way to take care of our environment with reverence while keeping rising fuel costs at bay, we need to investigate alternative energy sources.
